Frequently Asked Questions

What are the prices and sizes for a pet portrait?

I can do any size, please contact me for a specific quote on a specific size you prefer! in general, I find an 11x15’ portrait works really well.

11x15” with background 300$

9x11” with background 225$

9x11” without background (muted colour behind portrait) 175$

A 50% deposit is required to hold your booking, and the rest due upon completion of pet portrait!

How does booking a pet portrait work?

Start by contacting me, either via my email (madelinewoodfine@gmail.com), or through a DM on instagram (@madeline.fineart).

First up, I want to hear everything about your furry friend (spare no details or pictures!).

Next up we discuss what you want for the background and overall style of your portrait. I can work from any picture, swap out any background to anything you prefer, and create something that will fit the style of your home or vision!

I work from your selected photo to draw out your pet on pastel paper within a predetermined time frame.

How long is the wait list for a pet portrait?

Average wait list depends on the time of year and how many other commissions I currently have lined up. Please contact me for current wait list times!

Can you ship a pet portrait?

Absolutely! I ship the portrait between two pieces of Masonite (a very hard cardboard- almost as hard as wood!) and glassine paper to protect the portrait. Shipping times and costs will depend on clients location.

Can I pick up if I’m from the Ottawa Valley?

For anyone in the Ottawa valley pick up is available at our home! Shipping also available for those in the valley that prefer it.

Do you do other commissions?

I am happy to do any pastel commissions including landscapes, houses and cottages, and other wildlife! Just reach out for more information and to get started! The process is the same as booking a pet portrait.

Do you have a framer you can recommend?

I can recommend using Purvis Gallery and Framing in Pembroke, or Walkerworks Picture Framing in Stittsville for those in the Ottawa or Ottawa Valley area!
