Madeline Woodfine

I am a self taught pastel artist located in the Ottawa Valley. During the pandemic, my husband and I moved to a very rural farmhouse outside of Foymount (“in the hills” as my grandfather would say)! Between the non existent cell service and very sketchy internet, I decided to fill my spare time with painting, something I really enjoyed as a child but hadn’t done in over 10 years! After experimenting lots with oil paints, last March I decided to try pastels and never went back! My pandemic hobby slowly morphed into doing pieces of our family’s pets, to friend’s pets, to now anyone who wants a keepsake of their furry friend!

I aim to paint each piece as realistically as possible, but I often add what my mom would call a bit of ‘cuteness’ to each pet and painting!

I also love to do landscapes and wildlife, mainly drawing inspiration from places within the Ottawa Valley.
